About IR Assist
Industrial Court awards are the best guide to how a dismissal dispute will go in Malaysia. They are also long, dense and hard to search. IR Assist makes them quick to find and quick to read.
Built with practitioners
IR Assist started with a Malaysian industrial-relations practitioner’s own research method: a Termination Index of eight grounds of dismissal and five types of misconduct, and seven headings for reading any award. IR Assist applies that method to the published dismissal awards.
How the awards are read
- Source. Dismissal awards published by the Industrial Court of Malaysia on mp.gov.my, from 2003 to today (a few scans too poor to read are left out). We check for new awards every month.
- Reading. An AI model reads each award in full (scanned awards are converted to text first). Each award is read at least twice, and a ground, outcome or label is kept only when most readings agree.
- Evidence. Every classification and heading points to the paragraphs it relies on, with a quote from the award. Each point of the full summary shows its paragraphs, and any figure in it (an amount, a date, a number of months) must appear in the award, or the point is left out. The quote shown to you is always the court’s exact words; a quote that cannot be found in the award is not shown.
- Numbers. Outcome rates and typical backwages are calculated from the awards by ordinary code, never estimated by AI.
- Checking. Samples are compared against independent readings, and errors reported from inside the app are reviewed and fixed.
What IR Assist is not
It is not legal advice, and it is not a law firm. Summaries can contain mistakes, so the full award is always one tap away and is the final word. For advice on a live matter, speak to an IR practitioner or lawyer.
