Read in full
Every award is read end to end, including the scanned ones, at least twice. A label is kept only when most readings agree.
Filed by ground
Each award is placed in the Termination Index: eight grounds of dismissal and five types of misconduct, the way IR practitioners think.
Seven headings, with sources
Type of dismissal, case number, background, both sides, findings and the legal point. Each point shows the paragraphs it came from.
The Termination Index.
How often the employee’s claim succeeds, and what the court typically awards, for each ground of dismissal. Computed from the awards themselves and updated as new ones are published.
Typical backwages: median months awarded where the claim was allowed. An award can fall under more than one ground.
Ask it like you’d ask a colleague.
“Employee refused a transfer to another branch.” IR Assist finds where that sits in the index, the closest awards, and a two-line answer drawn only from those awards, each one linked.

Built to be checked, not trusted blindly.
- The court’s own words. Every heading shows the exact passage from the award it relies on.
- One tap to the source. The full award from the Industrial Court, always linked.
- Errors get fixed. Spot something wrong? Report it from the award and it goes to review.

Questions
Is this legal advice?+
No. IR Assist is a research tool. It helps you find and understand Industrial Court awards quickly; for advice on a live matter, speak to an IR practitioner or lawyer.
Where do the awards come from?+
Dismissal awards published by the Industrial Court of Malaysia on mp.gov.my, from 2003 to today (a few scans too poor to read are left out). We check for new awards every month.
How accurate are the summaries?+
Each award is read in full at least twice, a label is kept only when most readings agree, and each point of a summary shows the paragraphs it came from. In a check of 60 randomly chosen awards, the outcome was right in all 60. Mistakes are still possible, so the full award is always one tap away, and you can report an error from any award.
What is the Termination Index?+
A practitioner’s way of sorting dismissals: eight grounds (Misconduct, Poor Performance, Breach of Contract/Fiduciary Duty, Redundancy/Retrenchment, Insubordination, Negligence, Poor Health/Incapacity, Constructive Dismissal) and five types of misconduct.
